Adult Intensive Outpatient Program Day and Evening (IOP)
This six to eight week program is designed to help patients in a safe, supportive environment, self-diagnose their disease, and to help them develop a new lifestyle that supports their recovery. Education is provided on the disease concept, including stages of the disease, signs and symptoms of the disease, medical aspects, recovery process, cross tolerance, addictive cycle, and sober support systems. Patients also learn how their defense mechanisms have kept them in denial of their addiction and kept them in painful situations. Patients learn to recognize when they are using their defense mechanisms and work on being honest with themselves so that they can change their behaviors. Utilizing the 12-step philosophy, patients are also connected with outside sober supports and are helped to obtain a sponsor and home group. Patients are taught to value themselves and their recovery and work towards making progress in their lives.
